Besides that, the rewrite is already controversial among Sonic fans. So much so there's debates just about that alone.
Sadly, I do not think he is. This game is just one more in line with many facing this type of problem. The movie industry has been balls deep in this for years and now the game industry is catching up. Just look at the new Assassin's Creed game. It was openly admitted the only reason for that main character is because of the 2020 "Summer of Love." It makes zero sense and now it may end up dismantling Ubisoft.
While this will no way truly hurt Sega, its damage to their reputation is enough. The main issue with JP games now is Western localizers who are forcing this crap in. The interview with the creators of Dragon Quest flat out said they were forced to censor the original art.
Just stop coping and defending these companies who do this BS. A remake should only upgrade graphics and soundtrack. DO NOT TOUCH the story or alter anything for a modern audience. I love Sonic but will not drop a cent on anything that has DEI or censorship.
How do you know they were done for DEI purposes? Got any proof for that?
When Bethesda introduced Horse Armor DLC those that had experience with asian game sounded the alarm.
But people dismissed it because and I quote: "it doesn't affect the game play any."
Fast forward to today and the AAA industry is suffocating itself at the backs of live service games.
Then there was the whole mess with feminist frequency in the 2010s and once again those sounding the alarms were dismissed with and I again quote:"No one is trying to take you anime tits away"
And boy The sheer amount of examples I have for this one... But to see the culmination in one word: Concord.
So all I have to say is ignore our warnings at your peril.
Name one recent remake that wasn't censored or altered beyond a graphical upgrade.
