The "emo hedgehog" half is just as long, if not longer, than the main game. So with this you're basically buying a new shadow game with sonic gens as a bonus.

Up to you, if the game looks interesting then give it a shot or wait for a sale if you don't want to risk it. I recommend it, Shadow gens is spectacular and Sonic gens is the same great game since 2011

Ehh, it's a tough decision, it seems like the sonic generations remaster is lacking content (mainly just dialogue changes, so not a huge deal) and they messed up the physics. If you're more interested in playing as sonic, I'd suggest getting the original, the remaster doesn't even look any better graphically. If you're wanting to play shadow generations specifically, I'd wait for a sale or find somewhere selling it cheaper. It's only a few hours long and there isn't anything to do when you're done except running around collecting screws on the ground. It's not worth the full price if you just want one or the other.

it’s short because it’s just a DLC

If you've never played the original, this is two-for-one is even more worth the money for you than returning players - you'll be getting two of the best 3D Sonic games to date. The minuscule "censorship" changes that some people are really overdramaticising will completely go over the head of a new player. I can only speak for myself but I noticed no physics issues in my playthrough of the Sonic half. And yeah, the Shadow half is some of the best 3D Sonic level design/gameplay in the entire series. It is tragically short, but I've still been having an absolute blast with it even after finishing, replaying the earlier levels for S ranks and collectables now that I understand the moveset and have all the abilities unlocked etc.

well the shadow part of the game is extremely good and probably the best ''game'' in the franchise

the sonic part is meh but still fun

If you plan on replaying the levels to get everything and the highest rankings then yeah it's worth.

For the record I'm also a new player, I only played sonic frontiers and like one PSP game when I was a kid.

Not worth it.

Way too short and the generations is just a copy paste without any real change. Even mods did better for orignal Gens.

the game is good fun. The "shadow dlc" will run you about 5-6 hours but you might get more millage if you plan on replaying for better times and also the unlock able abilities.

The original generations is good. If you have the money and are interested in shadows story its a good buy.
