For those thinking the "censorship" is just about Rouge...
The whole of Sonic Generations' script got altered to scrub anything terminally-online people would deem "offensive" (e.g. Amy's flirting, Knuckles' comment on Classic Sonic's weight, Classic Eggman calling Modern Eggman "crazy", etc.). And where things get even more jarring is certain scenes being poorly reanimated to replace scenes those same people would find "problematic" too (e.g. Sonic putting his hand on Amy's face, Amy pushing Knuckles into a tree, etc.). And yes, the one thing people love to use to discount all these complaints... Rouge getting edited to the point it's laughably obvious as to why the changes were made to her and only her.

And here's the problem with everything I mentioned...
A good remaster is suppose to bring a game forward and simply make it both run more efficiently while both fixing out years-long issues and maybe adding some special extra content (cut content or brand new). What it's NOT suppose to do is go in and completely alter a game's story, both dialogue and actual scenes, to try and appease a vocal minority of people who likely aren't even gonna buy the game to begin with. On top of that, the newly-redubbed voices sound even more flat than before and make the flow of things even more awkward knowing what came before. All these changes just so happen to line up with "politically-correct" activism, because those are the most egregious and noticeable changes.

This sucks for me a lot, because I DID want to play the new Shadow campaign. But because I'm now forced to pay up for a botched and censored version of a game I love from 2011 along with it, the money I would drop for the right to play Shadow Generations also gets counted on the Sonic Generations "remaster". I'm not the only one who feels this way, and no... it's not because of "grifters" or "right-wingers"... it's because I see how obvious these changes were and how poorly replaced they were. I didn't need some YouTube personality to tell me something was wrong, I already sensed it from the moment I noticed SEGA not showing anything off on the remaster side of things.

I'm not sorry for calling this stuff out. It needs to be addressed because this is both historical revisionism and unintegral artistic malpractice on what should've just been a straightforward remaster. I'm not saying the Q.O.L changes such as additional save slots and the Chao missions are bad, those are fine (and I imagine Shadow Generations is a good time, but the Rouge "changes" still plagues it too - just need to say that). What I and others take issue with is the fact none of these changes were warranted, much less needed. And all the said changes just so happen to line up with trends the gaming industry in the West is doing now with remasters and remakes.

Now I have a more fleshed out explanation for why people do not like the "changes" and why I think the script being thrown out was unwarranted (not even Sonic Colors Ultimate got that treatment). OK, Peace.

ok
You will get hate for this but you are right. Even the Knuckles encounter with classic sonic and his belly change is pure stupidity. Classic woke morbid obesity is positive body image inspired garbage. The OG encounter was funny, taking the mic out of old sonic design and if you wanted to even put a body image spin on it, it shows be got into shape. These days though encourage people to get into shape is baddddddddd be morbidly obeseeee girllll

This is why I don't like remakes these days, instead of preserving or enhancing the original experience.. it becomes.. this.

If you really want an honest answer, I was going to buy it on Switch this Friday (I prefer physical)... then I saw the changes through the leaks and decided to save my money.

I prefer portability to Denuvo.

You're ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in every discussion board in the forums of this game on Steam and yet everyone else is terminally online?

I've seen more convincing arguments from lobotomized patients.

I'm not normally online this much. If it weren't for people trying to stick "gooner" allegations on me because they wanted to hyperfocus on Rouge, I would've gone about my day as normal. I don't like letting stuff like that stand because they take no response as "confirmation" of whatever they're accusing someone of.
