overall, no. please no. While the old localization flexes like "it's our job or something" was removed and lore acknowledgements was added, it feels like we lost a lot at the same time, where certain characters aren't respected as much. But hey, if you just want someone to name drop south island for the hell of it.... I'm sorry but that's just not why I'm looking into Sonic. Story wise, the characters come first, the lore follows after from there. And in certain areas, they aren't respecting the characters as much as they should

That being said, Generations is a tricky thing because this game's whole identity is referencing the past and going "Hey, remember when we had original ideas?". So to some degree, the constant referencing actually works here more than it probably should.
