Always a good look when a company removes the original then rewrites the remaster... NOT!

Historical Revisionism is a cancer that plagues gaming right now (looking at you, Silent Hill 2 Remake), and it has come for Sonic Generations now. Hastily rewritten dialogue, removing Rouge's more feminine character details, lazy implementation of new lines that don't gel with the original game's animations, and what purpose do the new Chao collectibles even serve? They remind me of Park Tokens from Sonic Colors Ultimate, but look far more useless than those ever were.

At least Sonic Colors Ultimate had enough dignity to leave its original script intact. I'm almost convinced Shadow Generations was just a ruse for chronically-online freaks like Hit Detection to come in and silently sanitize the original Sonic Generations in the dark (there was a reason SEGA never talked about the Sonic portion of this game).

More stuff for people to do. Sonic colors should have gotten a rewrite to match the 3ds story.

Nah only good part about the Wii sonic color story was the eggman background lines. Otherwise the story is terrible

It should. Media gets rewrites from its creators all the time.

If rewites never happened then everyone would be stuck with the awful first draft.

There was no character development, characters literally stepped backwards into stupider blander versions of themselves.

i believe they said they'll delist the original from steam once shadow generations comes out, which does suck for people looking to get into mods but i'm sure you'll be able to find it elsewhere if it doesn't just come with the Shadow Gens purchase in the future.

they also mentioned adding the original to a bundle so if you buy the bundle you can still get it. which if you know how steam handles bundles that's actually a pretty good deal.

I feel like people are missing the point of my post:

The new script and redub actually sound and look WAY WORSE than the original. Rouge's censorship is just insult to injury, and the addition of Chao cannot sway my opinion
