Boycotting this game over censorship

I was gonna give this a buy, but now after seeing the leaked rewritten script and the needless censorship they pulled with Rouge. I will be boycotting my first Sonic game in 21 years thanks to censorship courtesy of both Ian Flynn and Hit Detection (a Sweet Baby, Inc. like "consulting firm").

I know none of you will listen, but I will not stand for the bastardization of the original game in any form, minor or major, because it does a disjustice to the original game's legacy and robs people of the original experience (for better or for worse). A remake this is not, so this is in poor taste on everyone involved's part.

Same. People can say: "Oh its small changes, why does it matter to you?". For me, Sonic is a important Franchise that made me passionate about my Hobbies to me as young adult. ITs been part of my childhood ever since my Father (who passed away) bought me a Sega Genesis with Sonic & Knuckles and Sonic 2. It baffles me with the sudden Localization changes that wasn't EVEN an issue back in day for the Sonic series.

I honestly dont really care when people say statements like those. No one is stopping you from buying the game still and Dont let me give you sleepless nights over people "complaining" about localization and censorship changes.

Im not supporting Sega for tarnishing the series I loved since i was a kid going forward. Hopefully the Sonic modding community can port the X Shadow levels to the OG generations. I know those guys are pretty talented. They ported Day time Unleashed levels to OG Generations. So i can see if its possible to do the same with the X Shadow levels.

Shadow is also my favorite sonic character. This was my selling point for the remaster. Now im not really interested after hearing news like this....

Now, I don't hate you personally or even as someone looking forward to this game. However, I will not stand for this kind of stuff in remasters. If they can't preserve the original experience as it was back then, I will boycott the entire package regardless of how good the side game turns out.

people genuinely don't like the dialogue from the old generations it's been the biggest complaint people had about it. of course sega was going to change it.

also if you want to talk about game preservation then sega is probably the least anti preservation company compared to say nintendo that if they legally could go into your house and smash your original n64 games they would.

People like that bring out the worst in me. I can see the slippery slope all this leads to, and Rouge is one of my favorite characters (and my first childhood crush). Not even mentioning fan art, it's just clear pandering to Karens and Twitter white knights who won't even buy the game to begin with. I have been with Sonic since Heroes came out on the PS2... and of this is the new norm, I am walking away starting with boycotting this game and the upcoming movie.

theres literal compilation of tails being in green hill in many games because in generations he didn't remember what green hill looks like, or the shadow line

To be fair, Sonic colors dialogue is the most Cheesy in the series in General. 2nd is Lost world. What were the issues about the OG generations dialogue? I never heard any problems with it back in the day. What sources do you claim that Justifies Sega to change the dialogue for this remaster?

In all actually, Sega wanted Sonic series to be more Light hearted which im TOTALLY fine with than making Sonic "Edgy", Sonic colors was the start of the light hearted stories. You know what came after that? Generations. These changes Sega changed in the scenes for the X shadow remaster, doesnt justifies Sega's outlook on the series.

Though ive seen some people in the Sonic community criticizing how Sega is westernizing Sonic in general. Those were mixed opinions for me back then. Now if you're referring to that then i can kinda see what you're trying to say. But im still standing by my Opinion.

I did see them back in the day, yes they did do that because of the public image of sonic isn't the best, doesn't help the fanbase became the laughing stock due to infamous figures back then, I agree the light hearted (which i'm a fan of it since watching the AOSTH cartoon as a child). Possibly the change due to how SEGA themselves views Sonic as the property now then it was during the 2010's after the success of sonic movie and frontiers. but hey it is what it is 🤷‍♀️

That still doesn't justify revising the series' history. The failures should not be seen as a bad thing to be ashamed of.
