No, Denuvo doesn't require a constant internet connection, as it doesn't constantly try to connect to its servers. It does still occasionally check, and if it checks when you're offline, the game will shut down. So, best to stay online, but offline does work for a while.

So, you said it sucks that they added Denuvo, but you still bought the game. By supporting companies that use Denuvo, they’ll keep doing it. The only way to put an end to this is to stop buying their games.

Steam just made a rule that anyone who uses anticheat must disclose how its used, meaning there is a chance it may be something else entirely

Depends heavily on if you checked in recently through Denuvo.

This game has Denuvo, so it will lock you out when your Denuvo token expires, requiring an internet connection to renew it. If the servers are down, you won't be able to renew even if you do have an internet connection. If you can, refund the game until either they remove it, or it goes on a big enough sale that you can justify paying for a rental.
