What are the chances that Mephiles will show up? Rumor has it the Time Eater was the remains of Mephiles in an early script of Generations. Maybe that will finally be confirmed.

But at the same time, We've seen Black Doom do that before, albeit only in Marza cinematics. Black Doom is very capable of shunting shadow through time and space using memories, and I don't think Infinite would have the knowledge on Shadow to have him relive specific, less storied moments of his past, like the Final Chase, or his time fighting through Westopolis. Let alone major moments like the Biolizard, or, if the "Painful Memories" line is right, Maria dying.

True, the glitching does look similar to the Phantom Ruby energy. I just assumed the game took place simultaneously with Generations. But maybe it takes place after Forces. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I'm figuring its only meant to thematically parallel Generations, not be actually connected.
