Should I follow a Guide?

Just beat Trails in the Sky FC last night, and I followed a guide for that one. Should I do the same for SC?

If you want completion (all missables, all Secret Sidequests all Sidequest bonus BP etc.), then yes. If not, then no.

If you do want to use a guide, I recommend the one on GameFAQs by Drache the Dork and Berserker Blade

As a completionist, you definitely need a guide. This game is kinda unforgiving for a lot of collectibles. The guide by Drache is good for that and doesn't spoil any fights by holding your hand on what you should equip/strategies/etc (except a few exceptions). For me, that's a positive. I've been playing on hard while following mostly his maps for treasure hunting and reading the text to make sure I didn't miss any recipes, books or other time-restricted secret.
