There any fish guides out there yet?
Or rather just a full list with locations, what bait to use, and such.

There is a spreadsheet that tells you which fishing holes give which fish, but no bait specifics although you can most likely figure out the rest on your own with a bit of patience.

Can a brother catch a link to that? I'm failing the google test.

The last fish on the list, Dynatrad can only be caught later in the game, or so I've read.

Actually Bang, assuming you are talking about the one articulate? linked, it does list what type of baits get what fish on one of the other pages. Seems pretty accurate from what I have seen. What it doesn't have is what the fish spit out for what sizes.

Has some of the drops listed for various sizes for those available in chapter 1. From the comments it appears as if the drops are constant regardless of fishing spot. So for fish that appear in chapter 1 you have a decent drop list. Comments contain ranges of some of the later fish.

Is it me or does anyone else not know where the Gull Seaside Way fishing spots are. I've hugged every single sea-facing edge and swam most of the water and even tried activating the rods via the menu (didn't work). It's annoying since these are the only two spots to find the blue marlin

Just to clarify, I was indeed talking about that spreadsheet but at the time that I found it, either I was unaware of the 2 other pages or they weren't there. If they have been there since the beginning then I stand corrected. Thanks for pointing that out.

One of the spots is "hidden". You have to hug the cliff as you walk south along it from the beach on a "hidden" path. I believe it's in the beach area of the screen where you can see the entrance towards the forest that leads towards Jenis Academy. That spot is 100% self confirmed to give blue marlin with salmon as bait.

That spreadsheet is perfect thanks all

Followup question if anyone has gotten to this then. I'm working on the master fisher achievement and my progress says 22/25, however there's only one spot still missing in my fishing book. Are there two hidden fishese not listed in there or something?
Usana Nov 12, 2015 @ 6:45pm
The sheet lists 26 fish(including Dynatrad). Which ones are you missing? The blue marlin can be tricky since you can only lure it with Sea Bass and Salmon which means you have to go back to Gull Seaside Way in Ruan later after you get a rod that can use those fish as bait.

My book says I have everything except the Granakor but my achievement reads 22

Ooh nice. Completely forgot about that place from when I visited it in FC. Thanks!

Hmm. . . My achievement reads as 17 even though I have only 16 entries in my fishing book. Maybe poles somehow come into play? Or perhaps fishing holes found? Apparently, globally, nobody has gotten it yet. So perhaps it is bugged somehow?
Paiguy Nov 13, 2015 @ 5:29am
Must be, I would assume somebody would have it already.

Hopefully when it gets fixed I would get in on loading up my save but who knows. Maybe I'll keep a spare save next to a pool where you can fish granakor so I can "finish" the book again if it needs some sort of trigger.
Paiguy Nov 13, 2015 @ 7:09am
Alright so I caught the ganakor and my book is now full. I didn't get the achievement as expected and was at 23/25. I did some other random fishing and caught a gold angelfish which despite being in my book already gave me another point and put me at 24.

I'm wondering if something just didn't get counted previously, or something? but I have no way of telling other than trial and error fishing everything and hoping I get it.
Usana Nov 13, 2015 @ 7:59am
Hmmm. . . that could be. We have had at least a couple of patches and we don't know what was or wasn't fixed in them. Maybe one of them fixed the achievement tally so that it would count right? Anyways I have been keeping track of fishing drops but I won't be able to seriously refish some areas until I get free roam access. Still there are some pretty sweet drops(such as T-Anklets from Valeria Bass). And then there are Rockeaters which are pretty much a waste of bait.
