What would Cassius think of the relationship between Estelle and Joshua?
I mean how awkard it would be if he saw his kids kissing eachother, and become from a brother-sister relationship, to a boyfriend-girlfriend one. then if they get married, he would have to attend as both the father of the bride and groom, and afterwards he would become the co-father-in-law of himself.
It's not that i'm opposed to the relationship, i just find the notion hilarious.

Except they aren't related by blood. Joshua was an adopted son, remember? They're still "family", but since there's no blood relation between the two, I guess it's...ok? He probably wouldn't have an issue with it.

Don't try to apply modern standards to this game. Joshua is not related by blood to the Bright family. There are no such things as adoption forms in this game as well. Cassius just took Joshua in and decided to consider him as his son.

And remember Cassius' joke in the prologue of FC? Giving her daughter a boy as a present? He wouldn't really mind Estelle falling for him while growing up together.

Nobody else seems terribly squicked about the idea, so neither should you. :P

Well I don't like it either. An adopted family is still a family, if they've been together for years.

but yeah Cassius obviously has no issues

It's only been a couple of years since they met and actually started living together as family... at least it hasn't been as long as Estelle and Schera's relationship iirc.

Estelle at 11 years old: Dad! Why is my present a boy!?

Estelle at 17 years old: Best. Present. Ever.

Yeah but they were 11 when they met. Right just before puberty hit.
Furthermore they never really had that sibling vibe.

Not only that, but the two of them met late enough that they wouldn't be subject to the Westermarck Effect, unlike, say, Alex and Luna from Lunar: The Silver Star.

Very good point.

It's also worth noting that Cassius knew a lot more about Joshua than Estelle did to begin with. He may have already known about Joshua's feelings and even given his blessing long ago in one of their nighttime chats on the porch.

Historically a lot of nobels would adopt sons or daughter for the sole purpose of marrying their heir. This is a bit different since Cassius adopted Joshua since he was a misguided assassin, but still, it's not a new concept.

That would be a thing in Erebonia, but not in Liberl xD
Missilepom Nov 7, 2015 @ 5:20pm
If Cassius felt awkward about this, he wouldn't have adopted a child assassin and let him live with his own daughter in the first place.

Joshua is just a caring father present to his beloved daughter, like dog or so, he belongs to her and she may play with him as she wants lol
By the way Cassius himself is a bit incestuous about Estelle, remember how he wants her to cherish him, like you may jump into your loving father arms :steammocking:
