Is the sepith limit 140 on the PSP compared to 70 on the PC?
Someone who was playing the PSP version was saying the sepith limit per battle was 140 for his version. He seemed pretty credible to me. But is this true? And why isn't it 140 in the PC version then? And most importantly, could it be patched into the PC version? That would most certainly make sepith farming much easier.

Geez guys, don't let a useful topic like this go down. We could get an increase to a cap of 140 sepith as a result!

I definetly saw some videos where people earned 140 sepith in some battles in The 3rd... But SC? Nope.

Well, there's multiple people on Gamefaqs with the PSP version who are claiming that the cap is 140 in their game. And I believe the bug fixing and whatnot for the localized PSP version of Trails SC was done by Falcom themselves.

I looked at the PSP source code for SC and it still said 70. Hrm.

Well, I'll ask if any of them could provide pics.

It took a few days, but I got hold of a screenshot. He used a shining pom in chapter 3 and I believe he aimed for the bonus sepith turn with multi-hit spells/moves to maximize sepith gained.

Sara, obviously.

The Japanese SC PSP code very definitely still has a limit of 70.
It's odd that the English version would seem to have a limit of 140.
I wonder if they ported some code from 3rd or something. I'll have to look into it deeper, still.
As well as making sure it's not something like turn effect having an effect on the limit.
If it's an accidental change it would be better to keep it as-is.

Well, according to the Kotaku article Falcom themselves handled the bug fixing and programming for the localized PSP version. Could be that they thought it was a good change to make or something.

No complaints if it's just a bug or accidental change if it doesn't make it over (or even if it's not possible to bring it over), but well... a higher sepith cap would be nice to have.

Well, going by some recent reports it also seems to be the case that all enemies and bosses may give double the amount of sepith.

The chapter 3 end boss (The Orgueille) gives 80 fire sepith instead of 40. And someone else claims that the shining poms in chapter 3 give 50 sepith of each type, compared to 25 in the PC version. I'm assuming that this probably extends to every enemy in the game.

I asked for some pictures to see if it really is the case, but I have almost no doubt in my mind that it is. I'll post the screens here when I get them.

Alright, someone provided a decent amount of pictures. Just as I suspected, all enemies and bosses give double the amount of sepith in the localized PSP version.

Just curious why this would be an issue. I mean, ok, I'm only at ch7.. so barring a super quartz option in the final chapter. I find that I gain enough sepith throughout the entire game that I now have redundant sepith and nothing to synthesize/upgrade.

It's a difference between the localized PSP and PC versions of the game. And a pretty significant one. And if you're playing on hard/normal you will probably need to grind a lot more sepith, because it's pretty much essential to upgrade everyone's arsenal as soon as possible.

Besides that, I do think the cap of 70 is rather low and I've had a hard time gaining specific types of sepith in early chapters. And perhaps Falcom thought that as well. I could believe just raising the cap to 140 could've been accidental or caused by a bug, but every boss and enemy giving double the amount of sepith (and it being listed as such in their monster book entries) really can't be an accident.

I don't know if anything can or will be done with it. That's up to Xseed and they seemed to be unaware of these differences.
