Amazon has an OST for TitS and TitS SC... how much overlap is between the two?
I'm tempted to buy one, but at the same time I feel a little weird buying music I've already got in my games' install directory.

Just about the whole OST from the first game is found in the second one, according to the sound files. Just get the SC if you want a soundtrack. You can find the music files though, and play them with the right video player.

[game folder]/BGM contains all of the game music for both games in .ogg format.
You can compare.
Or you can use that .ogg-files.

Errr... video-player? Why not audio-player?

I would suggest grabbing one of the super arranges instead.

I don't want to miss out on any tracks, though.

Anyway: video player/audio player.... are those even things these days? Media player is the only term I've ever seen, and all of the big media players will play both audio and video files.

Also,a big problem with ripping the music from the directory is that I'd need to convert it to another format, AND (more importantly) discover which title goes with which track, which could be a very tedious process (unless someone else has already done this and posted the results?)

Audacity can convert the .OGG files to another format.

I did that when I was trying to look for tracks. Some of the song titles carried over from FC might not be precisely accurate, but this should be enough info to be a big help.

TRACK TITLES/DESCRIPTIONS HAVE POSSIBLE SPOILERS UP TO THE END OF SC.

There's no overlap at all between the two official soundtracks. The BGM folder for SC is quite the opposite, as it contains every song from FC minus a few tracks (the opening, ending, and title screen). Audacity is a free program that can convert .ogg files, but as far as I know, it is only possible to convert one file at a time. Converting and renaming 90+ files individually sounds like more trouble than it is worth to me.

It's also worth noting that the full versions of Hoshi no Arika (FC ending theme) and Gin no Ishi Kin no Tsubasa (SC opening theme) are not included in either game's BGM folder.

Yeah I have both osts and they are both different. SC has different versions of a few songs, but yeah they are different.

Here's the PSP internal BGM list, thought it's worth noting, first few tracks slightly differ but rest should be same.

http://pastebin.com/MYEDchz9

You're interested in line 153 and onwards.

Note: It's not misaligned, just appears wrong in Notepad/Pastebin, download as RAW and open with Notepad++ if you want the correct alignments.
