1st chapter boss yeat another 3 bosses in row witout ability to properly resuply.
Now i locked in dungeon witout ability to cook bombs and meds. Boss oneshots my party with energy blast. poor oliver has 20 hp left. And cheap minion spawns tactic anoyed me beyond my tolerance level first time. Last boss was awful and tedious. But this guy is even worse
I'm assuming you're on the Storm Bringer right now, let me know if that's right. Who did you pick between Agate/Schera? That will dictate a large part of your strategy. You actually don't need any items for him with a strong setup (except maybe a couple EP charges which should be in that dungeon). I hope you're using Clock Down for these fights, it's pretty essential from here until the end of the game.
One of the keys to beating the Storm Bringer is to keep your group spread out (unless you really want to go all out on Earth Wall). You probably noticed, he has an attack that hits everybody and attack delays them - if this hits your whole party then he can get off multiples of it in a row and demolish you before you get another turn. This is one of the battles that it is worth it to move someone without attacking just so they're in a favorable position.
What's your quartz setup/spells you're focusing on? What are your accessories available? What is your basic strategy? If you had the determination to beat 3 mouthy Jaegers then I believe in you, you have the ability to take out the Storm Bringer if you're patient and resilient.
You can gather clock down on Olivier now.
Mouki's can be AT-delayed, if you got hot redhead in party.
Kloe's mass-heal and str/def debuff are your friends on boss.
Schera's Heaven's kiss can give you 6 turns instead of 4 in a row.
Hard is about using what you got, not about spamming cookies.
Schera. no anti faint acc except that i found.
Boss immune to 2 out of 4 elements and now my party lack dmg. I can get clock down but that will take almost all my time quartz.
I do have la tear on 3 out 4 characters but that hardly helps.
But you can't buy good orbments in ch.1
You can get from monsters Evade 2 and EP 2, which I did, because I wanted aerial on 2-3 characters.
Also, you can get la teara on Kloe.
My setup before that boss was, like,
HP2+Heal+Mind 2+Evade 2+EP1+EP Cut 1+Cast 1 on Kloe
Blind + Cast 2 + Action 1 + Evade 2 + Range 1 + Defence 2 + EP 2 on Olivier
All spread, but Kloe can heal all with la teara or S-Break.
All got 200 CP
If you don't get Evade 2, you got Sleep from Schera and Absorb from rank.
also you cant craft at this point to get more earth or water.
Ep 2 would be a good think to grind indeed.
I calmed down and found a way to go. I indeed missed ability to get La teara so i made it harder for myself. If i get enough ep on kloe to cast it 3-4 times it would do the trick. 11 ep charges would be enough.
And air is needed for almost all AoE-spells.
You do not need 11 ep-charges on any boss, btw.
You need to stand in a way, so boss can't hit more than 2 characters.
I don't believe you can't get 1st level water or earth orbment on all characters. Even with setup above for la teara and clock down. Because you got mind 1 and hp1 from the prologue. Or, I dunno, you can just hit him in the face with weapons.
Overall tactics is Kill Minions > Survive Minions Buff > Kill boss, ignoring new minions. If there are too many minions to ignore, go to step 1.
And there is NG Nightmare Boss Strategy Thread. You can use it for hard.
First, it is always a good idea to restock/stock things you want before every major story event. Most times the game is pretty clear about when this occurs but if the prologue has taught you anything it is that you should always be prepared.
Additionally, there is an autosave feature in this game. Make sure to use it when you feel underprepared. It is located prior to the first page of saves.
Secondly, you can go back up from the old school building back to the canteen at Jenis and buy food to heal with. It's very easy to forget to go back in these instances.
Third, there are shining poms in that dungeon if you feel that you need to level for whatever reason. The wrap spiders give you a chance to encounter them.
So far everyone has given pretty good advice. Use top group crafts/spells (even air) to thin out the minions. Then withstand the boss' buff (Kloe's 200cp S-Craft will buff everyone's defense by 50%, this is incredibly useful). Clock Down him as soon as you can. Then spread everyone out so he can only hit one person. Impede him if he casts a spell. Try to get Earth Guard up on everyone - multiple people can cast this and he should only be hitting one person per turn if they're spread, so you can just replace the Guard once it goes down. If a new minion shows up then just ignore him. Curia if someone faints. If more than one minion shows up then consider using group attack spells to drop them and go into defensive focus to survive the boss buff. For damage, use Olivier's spells and then hit him with Estelle and Schera how I mentioned above. You should have at least a couple EP Charges, which is really all you'll need. You won't even need La Teara if everyone is spread out. Also, spread people out before the fight begins - in the tactics menu, move everyone around so they're not so close, that'll help withstand his early barrage.
You got this.
Ok, guys I really apreciate your help and trust in me. I considered cheating this boss but now im fully ready to fight him till i die from starvation.
