Bird Egg Drops in Chapter 5?

Does anyone know a good monster to get bird eggs from for the ingredient quest in this chapter (it's the one Orvid helps you with if you talk to him). So far the only monsters I've found that drops 'em are rock peckers, and it seems to be a pretty rare drop (fought about 8 and got 2). Forgive me for being lazy, but is there a better way?

Try using luck quarts. You can equip more than one on each character and they increase the drop rate by 30 %.

These luck quartz...are they available in ch 5? They don't seem to be available to be synthesized by the quartz shop.

I think I had two luck quarts in chapter 5. One from my FC save file and one from a treasure chest.

I believe the chest Luck Quartz is found at the very end of the west side of Nebel Valley

equineforecaster - I think by chicken fowl meat you mean tender poultry. The rimeras (small birds with egg shells on their heads) which populate eisen road, which connects to haken gate, drop tender poultry.

The big birds (Hraselvegr or something like that) on that road also drop it.

protip for getting drops: find the type of monster you want on the road, and make a beeline for killing it. if he doesn't drop a chest when he dies, run away immediately if you can, then fight the same monster group again once he stops flickering.

I generally just put luck/septium vein on Tita and run around one shooting the mobs I need. It is particularly effective if the mob you wants has an elemental weakness. If I recall right she can one shot rock peckers. Just max her attack and speed and throw on a Luck quartz(not like it matters what quartz she has as long as she has Attack/Action).

I'll keep that in mind for future use, Brane. I was able to get the bird eggs once I had the luck quartz pretty easily.

Rock peckers have around 1400 hp and have no elemental weakness, I don't think Tita is one-shotting them any time soon. Not that they aren't weak enough that they still aren't trouble.

Ah, I must have been thinking it was one of the other elemental neutral guys(or since I often keep Strike on her maybe I was remembering a critical hit). Checking from a save On hard she only hits their 1585 hp for about 1200. I mostly just like getting her to 1 shot mobs since it decreases the number of turns in battle.

Well glad you got them, though honestly I am surprised you didn't have enough on hand. I don't exactly go around farming and often just run around foes and I still had enough without having to hunt for eggs. But I have had the luck quartz on since I got it and prioritized on having it on Tita or whomever was actually finishing the kills(several times I had it on Kloe for aerial), so that could be why. Just don't forget to talk to Orvid for that quest so you get the extra BP and access to his rare ingredient shop :D

Ya, don't ask me why, but I literally had 0 bird eggs when I started that quest. I think I actually had everything else without Orvid's help, but I went to get him anyway since I saw that as a BP req. I must have just selectively avoided killing birdies without realizing it.
