Cloud Saves Not Syncing?

Only game I have had this issue so far with PC & SD. But no matter what the settings are, cloud saves just will not sync between PC and SD. Have double checked both locations to make sure it's still turned on. The only way to work around this issue is to reinstall the game on my SD.

same here its super odd because I had no issue with it syncing the last few days but earlier today my steam deck saves just stopped showing up on my desktop even though the actual files still show when you manually look up your steam cloud save data in browser
edit: reinstalling the game on my desktop made steam realize the game wasn't synced properly and let me update it so there's that at least

Yeah reinstalling the game is the only way I've found to force a refresh of the sync. At least the game isn't huge to redownload.

I tried other games and the cloud saves haven't been an issue at all. Guessing it's SC specific issue.

SC shares its cloud data with FC and 3rd, which is a somewhat less common situation. Maybe it's an edge case that Valve hasn't noticed yet when updating their systems. If it broke just recently, it's certainly not the game itself's fault, since there haven't been any changes in ages and it uses the Steamworks APIs correctly.

Getting the same thing, the cloud saves have worked really inconsistently its quite frustrating being locked to the one console.

I'd love to help, but there isn't much I can do about it on my end. You probably need to report this to Valve since the Steam client must not be correctly syncing the saves.

I'm having a similar issue and have gone down the rabbit hole with no solution. I started the game on PC a few days ago. I played the game on steam, able to use my cloud save from my PC. Now that I'm trying to go back to my PC, I don't see my save files from my steam deck.

I have tried re-enabling cloud saves, trying to switch from beta back to stable steam deck build...none of the usual fixes have done anything.

Now, I've tried really hard just to find my steam deck save files but I cannot for the life of me figure out where they are stored; if I could, I would just transfer that file back to my pc and just stick with my pc (and use remote streaming to play on deck if need be).

None of the folder locations I've read online seem to have my save files! It is baffling!

At the moment the only way I've been able to force the PC to pick up the cloud save from the deck is to reinstall the game, upon the reinstall process it spots the inconsistency in the cloud saves and you can pick which save to play with.

Reinstalling has been the only sure way to sync the saves for me as well.

Thanks yall, that's what fixed it for me. Unfortunately, I don't want to switch devices and cause another sync issue, so I'll just stick to PC and remote stream to steam deck if necessary. Sucks though =(

I really am very sorry about all that trouble. I have no idea why the Steam Client isn't syncing the Cloud data for the game, but I really hope this gets worked out in the near future.

I've finished my playthrough so unsure if there was a fix now, but the only work-around I found that works is to reinstall the game which forces an update to the cloud save.
