Is it actually possible to join the Fisherman's guild?

Have you already received a fishing book (or whatever the book that records your catches is called)? If yes, think of what would impress the Fisherman's guild to the point they would have basically no choice but call you one of them. What was one of those guys obsessed with in the first game? (I think he's called Lloyd, the guy with the moustache)

Straight answer in spoiler tags in case you haven't figured out: Capture the "King" of Valleria Lake, the legendary fish many have tried to catch in vain.

Even bigger spoiler on when exactly in the story you have to perform the action required to join the Fisherman's guild:

During Chapter 8, when you first get a chance to roam freely in Liberl and can visit Valleria Lake again, the abovementioned fisherman should also be just outside the back of the inn by the lake. I caught it with a salmon as bait after some attempts.

I didn't read past the very first tag as I remember him obsessing over that in the first game and I even remember what lake it is in. It's in the one in the little town on the lake to the south of Bose right?. From the other hidden spoiler tags Im guessing I DO end up going back to their at some stage. Ok. So that's all I needed to know cheers. If I do end up hopelessly stuck I'll come back and check the other tags. Thanks to everyone for their help. I'm currently in Chapter 3 and back in Grancel, so It could be a while before Im up to Bose (Im 44 hours in, I'm drawing it out, we dont get the final chapter til 2017, I want to make this last)
