Is this an anime or cultural thing. Where slapping people equates I love you dearly?

I think it's an anime thing... I often see some characters slapping some sense into each other. If only it worked that way in real life

Yeah, I noticed that too, I think it's quite used on anime too. A pity the person that most deserved a slap in the first game (Agate) didn't get one.

Its a cultural Thing. Liberl is all about them Slaps while Erebonia prefers Headpats

Slaps were a decently common thing in fiction in my time. Typically a woman would slap a man to shock him into silence during disagreements. It never devolved into a fight.

I am also old enough enough to have been slapped in my childhood when I was being bad, and I'm not even old. It's not super freakish.
