Better than The Political Process?
The Political Process is a great game to simulate elections in the US, from school board to the Presidency.
With aspects relating to elections AND legislating (but of course more focused on elections). The game is great and very realistic. You will need a lot of time and money to try to influence states (big up o'rourke) and the other side will do the same, so not easy!

The game is based on rational voters, which means if you support their policies, they will like you. There is no supremacist non-sense, you cannot threatening elected officials, etc.

Is this one a good simulator too or more based on reality (with politics such invading Mexico, or related to blood-purity)?

Political Process is a VERY detailed simulator that is very heavily focused on a data model. Political Machine in the past has been a lot lighter weight with a lot more focus on accessibility and much shorter games.

Political Process tends to be more numbers based, and deals with local elections. Although this game does have a very deep simulator, but with some leeway to allow for multiple sorts of election results, with a focus on gameplay.

You could say there's a major simulator aspect to this game (you can check the state data for yourself if you're doubtful!). Although this game is a lot more approachable, and can be enjoyed with your friends, and has a very approachable UI, with easy replayability and time investment from what I've gathered.

Yeah, the Political Process was made to be a more dense political simulator. Political Machine has a diferent structure and it more simple. So they all have pros and cons and its mostly about opinion about what you think its the best

Personally my favorite political sim game is the campaign trail web game and all the mods that have been made for it. They are based on actual elections, are legitimately realistic and can be pretty informative. President Infinity is also pretty good, but it is very complicated and difficult to win (at least for me). The realism in that game is middling.
In Campaign Trail visiting a state seems to make hardly any impact though. I read somewhere it's only 0.12%, not worthwhile.
