Report a translation problem
It's expensive (requiring pretty bad scales), and there are some counters. E.g. one counter for it is just having an awake Pretender monster or SC prophet that can ignore the bless and killing their stack of sacreds with it early. Another is to avoid making melee contact using anything but skellyspam, and yet another is Touch of Madness plus Berserk sacreds.
In a current game, an Asphodel ran over the MA Man with Fear bless thanks to having a ton of stats on their bless and being able to berserk all the Black Centaur. But Asphodel is kinda a special case; they have no trouble getting to high level research early thanks to not having to wait 8 turns to get a 2CP fort up.
But my current policy is that I'll probably mostly play MP games where the bless is banned until the Fear mechanics get patched; as is, it just makes for a less diverse/interesting early game.
There is also some bug that berseked units flee from fear in some cases, i guess both berserk and fleeing is applied at the same time, berserk should cancel current routing units to be fair
We have a spell that can break units out of berserk.
How good/viable would it be if Sermon of Courage would break fleeing allies out of a fear rout?
The thing is that it's actually really affordable, thanks to the demi lich. The main cost is picking incarnates bless and thus foregoing the points from being imprisonned. On a demi lich, it cost 156 design points with 174 points left if taken awake.
Good idea, maybe have Feat impact Morale X times the first time a unit is effected by it and after that have a -Y to attack and defense while inside its aura after that.
maybe even the minus should be time limited but alot longer.
