quickest way to get rid of commanders?

i have commanders i want to get rid of that would take a while to remove by just sending them into enemy territory. is there any easier way to fire them?

Give them a ring of waterbreathing and send them to an underwater province with a lab/commander you want to keep. Then remove the ring or give it to the second commander.

That's a great tip -I imagine you could dump troops in a similar fashion.

The implied but not explicitly state point is that there's no way to directly sack them: you have to get them killed. You could also give them a disease item or get them horror-marked but those are likely too slow to be useful.

Horror-marked is actually one of the reasons you may want to get rid of some commanders. If the mark is of high level, bad things may happen around those poor schmucks. ;)
