Does the Nidavangr sacred have chance to heal afflictions with Soul Scars?

My friends and I are doing a blitz later today and I was thinking of doing Unbearable Splendor as my bless on Marignon with the intent of using the flagellants to apply blind to his better troops which don't have great MR. But this won't work if the sacreds have a chance to heal afflictions as they lose soul scars.

No they don't heal afflictions when they die. I tested it. But he can if he bless them with recuperation.

I think they can heal recent afflictions when a soul scar triggers?
But no, Soul Scar doesn't help against afflictions in general.

At least that was my impression and how I read the description.

I'm pretty sure this is intended to one of the fun ways to counter those sacreds with many lives; the extra lives aren't very useful if they are unable to fight.
