Are new nations planned for a future patch ?

Probably yes. There are dozens of nations added over the years,
On the other hand, don't expect them to necessarily be in the next patch. Arabian nations took more than 10 years to add - I remember us discussing their inclusion in the naughties. Bogarus was added (About the same time) in Dom3, Vanarus took 5 or so years after that, and Rus, finishing that nation block, after about the same interval in Dom5. There were other nations added in the interim, but these ones were definitely planned years before being implemented. Some ones were added as inspiration stroke the authors, Pyrene seems to be an example of this. You may look up for mod nations by some authors, there is a history of some of them being added to the main game (Oceanis, Pelagia, Mekone were mods once).
That's about all info we have, unless Kristoffer considers to answer it personally here.

Very confident we're getting a LA Pyrene as I believe that made a brief appearance during the beta testing phase. So it stands to reason it's reasonably close to being playable. There also several nations without a LA successor that might get some based on some hints here and there.

But I think the biggest argument every Dom game in the last decade got new nations in future patches. There's no reason to assume D6 will break that streak.

I'm sure we'll get them eventually but after some time and they've always been free updates too in the past.

LA Pyrene because of what the user above me said is one I anticipate to be added but another one that I think might happen, though there's no evidence, would be LA Great Orionde. It's the last of the Ma Ind vassal nations that hasn't really seen an LA counterpart yet so it seems like it could make for a reasonable nations to be eventually added. I guess there's the lost Giant Tribe too but it seems reasonable to assume they've died out in LA or they've been found by Gath or something. I don't know the lore exactly.

There's of course other nations that don't have LA counterparts and plenty of inspirations outside of any current nation that I have no doubt Illwinter already had ideas for. Just a matter of having the time to make them a reality I suppose. :)

I think Kristoffer mentioned a LA Orionde being a possibility on this very forum.

The giants joined Feminie I believe.

LA Pyrene is in the works. Not sure what I will go for after that.

In addition to LA Pyrene, the executable also has references to nations called "Rig, Sylvan Knights" and "Oman".
Make of that what you will; based just on the names, I assume Rig will be celtic and forest-themed and Oman will be Middle Eastern.

If we go by names Sylvan is related to forests and makes me think of fay knights.

Hoping for LA Naba!

I mean we do lack the connection of EA Sauromatia and LA Tien Chi in the MA period, there are currently way too less eastern nations!

MA successor to Sauro is technically Pythium who occupies the exact same lands.

Would be nice if MA (and perhaps LA) Pythium had clearer connections to Sauromatia.
Maybe a lore update (and mechanical upgrade!) of "Battle Vestals" linking the origin of their order to Ermorians being impressed by the fighting skills of Sauromatian Amazons...?

LA Machaka or Sobek nation
Or both ;)

There's a few that could be adapted from Conquest of elysium. The freespawn dwarves seem kinda neat to me and dominions has yet to add a full dwarf nation.

I'd love to see a dwarf nation though I don't think Dominions needs any more freespawn nations

Seems unlikely to have the dwarves ported over, since CoE is more goofs and Dom is a little more serious and grounded in mythology/history with their factions.
