Comments not showing up on Twitgram?

I just bought this game after enjoying the demo sometime ago, but I'm unable to make progress because comments aren't showing up for me at all? I've tried restarting the game and changing the language in the options but it stays blank (screenshot in link)

Am I missing an action that makes me able to see the comments or is this a bug?
