Gripe: collecting orbs from villages
It's really tedious farming orbs from saved villages to use on the next quest. You can opt to not doing that, and making the mission harder than necessary as well as raising the chance you'd need to re-run a mission for quests.

QoL: auto collect orbs from all saved towns when on the map screen.

Yes probably the only downsides.
I used to start a level with almost zero crystal...... Then just noticed I should have collect these

You can always farm bosses, Batsu is the easiest, no villagers are needed and you kill him in 30 seconds or less. In 2 minutes I farm 2000 orbs

Yeah. A literal waste of time. From game design perspective not starting at max carries a far bigger downside (wasting time on fail) than the upside (giving a bit of value to orbs). If they removed all time-wasters the game would likely be less than half it's length.

Like are we really going to pretend summoning 5 units types is difficult when a stage is designed to be winnable without fighting? Did they also need to hide that challenge on first entry? That's 2 extra pointless playthroughs of 1 stage where you don't get to do anything.

I agree. It is practically the only thing I dislike about the game. I love rebuilding the villages, that part is a nice, cozy mechanic. But collecting the offerings to get orbs before a stage is somewhat tedious.

Boring indeed. It makes sense on a setting basis, you have to visit the villages to receive their offerings, but I often forget.

Completely agree. I don't know what was the point of implementing such a time-wasting "optional-but-not-really" mechanic.

I hope they implement the "standard amount of crystal start at each level"
This way, it will harmonize each level difficulty instead of based on "your current crystal".
