try not to fight far away because boss will spam arrow always close range.
Grind enough (through Gakinyudo quick kills (no villagers, +50/+100 crystals talisman)) so you have 3600 crystals in total (combined with the ones you get at the boss stage).
Convert every villager into a fully upgraded sorcerer, and position them behind Yoshiro, NEVER run between them and Cursed Soh, or close to them.
Just run around the level at max distance, dodge the projectiles (you can equip the movement talisman to make it easier) and since you have a ton of sorcerers, their super attack will charge extremely fast. Activate ASAP. Once Cursed Soh is staggered, hit him with the punisher.
If you ever get hit or go down, let the sorcerers go all out until you physical form is returned and then back to the strategy above.
If you feel lucky, equip tons of Tsuba and damage talismans and hit Soh with your best tsuba attacks once i a while.
EDIT, spelling, clarification
If you want to get a little more hands-on, you can block and counterattack CSoh in the first phase, then dodge her counterattack. It's a reliable dance step you can repeat until she uses Tenku's Flight. Then it's just a schmup after that. Keep your distance and dodge the arrows. If you're far enough back, they're easy to dodge. The thing to keep in mind is just not be afraid of being in her face, you can block her attacks (just keep an eye on the guard meter). As a sidenote, if doppel is up and you get arrow'd, doppel is still active. You can still fight her until doppel runs out of time. This is a great time-waster if you make a mistake (usually won't help once she starts using hers though).
So it goes. :\
I haven't checked, but there might be an indicator before she uses the bow. In DMC5 for example, Urizen's hands make different movements preceding different attacks. It's subtle, but there if you're looking for it. I haven't revisited the fight to check, but there might be something there.
There might be an overhaul mod one day. There's a lot in the game that could be altered in interesting ways.
Counterattack can be performed with perfect parry. Still working on the timing to repeat that. I remember another discussion addressing this. I just did it. So it is possible. [Edit] Just did it a second time, it's not a fluke. I guess you just need to be pressing Triangle/Y at just the right moment. I guess if I can give a suggestion, just focus on the perfect parry. You lose nothing if you don't get the counterattack.
There's an Oka dance move that can be performed at the end of a dodge that's unique to it. I never saw any reference to that ingame or elsewhere.
Sohju only has two real shotguns. You can survive most of them. The light blue and gold arrows are the killers.
You can avoid a point-blank shotgun attack with a simple ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dodge. This even works at midrange. As long as you have the balls to do it, Sohju stops being ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. If she fires arrows at you after you've been knocked down and you don't ukemi, it seems like a frame trap; no amount of spamming the dodge button will save you (hasn't worked for me anyway). So don't ever get caught on the ground once she starts using the bow. Ukemi everything or she'll have you dead to rights with a killer bow shot.
Sohju DOES have an obvious animation and rhythm to her bow pulls. She typically does two shots if she starts without a charged shot, but even if the first shot isn't a charged shot, the animation still makes it easy to avoid, even at point blank. She doesn't have a tricky rhythm to it either. It's not difficult to avoid, it's just punishing.
Thats just something I hate about the Sohju fight, Soh has adequate bow skills in order to take out fliers but nothing like a shotgun, I was hoping for an awesome 1v1 dual boss like the DMC games.
I NEED to play the DMC games like you were mentioning earlier with urizen, I'm a big fan of Super Best Friends Play so I know pretty much all the DMC lore but never had any of the games, would u suggest starting with 1 like the release date? I've played a few character action games my first being Metal gear rising.
You COULD technically 1v1 Sohju. It'll just be a LONG fight. She's got more health than she's got arrows. Also don't make mistakes because obviously.
As for DMC, I recommend going in release order. It'll make the variable quality of each installment less jarring and help build better fundamentals. The plot decisions also make more sense since it was made up as they went. You can see the development more clearly that way.
I suggest getting a PS2 or using an emulator for the first 3 games. PCSX2 just had a major update recently and is beautifully functional. I've tried DMC3 on Steam and the port is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. The HD Collection doesn't suck, but it made some bad changes and my save files kept vanishing (you'll put in a lot of hours, so that's really irritating). Unlike with most games, DMC higher difficulties give enemies more moves and change their battle behavior so it's not just a matter of them doing more damage, but it's a different experience. Lower difficulties lose their luster and having to slog through them again becomes a bitter ordeal. So I don't recommend the Steam versions of the first 3.
DMC4 and DMC5 are great on Steam.
If you feel compelled to play the other one, I'm not a good person to ask about that one. I don't consider it a DMC game. I do, however, recommend the light novels and anime. They're all canon in some way (though how is a little vague). There's also apparently a comic (multiple I think), but one addresses events prior to DMC5. Haven't got my hands on it yet. In any case, they're good quick reads and watches. Not deep, but they add to the lore. Characters like Goldstein, Patty, and Beryl are in them and they're all referenced in some way in DMC5.
3 summoners to speed up the summoning, lots of ninjas for distraction, and concentrate in healing the ninja's as much as possible to delay them from being taken out.
