At least 2 sword guards and all woodcutters.

Any sword guards that can break the stagger in one activation.

It's that simple, really. They're one of the squishier bosses so when the fight starts, send those woodcutters in while you use the sword guard to break the stance and wreck that behind, finish with a punishing strike then do it again by using the second sword guard right after they regain their stance, which happens a short bit before they can do any attacks out of that state.
All Woodcutter.
Command: Attack
Use Flame Special.
Use Villager Boost Special.
Win.
require unlock Soh skill tree, upgrade at least 2 tsuba guard, 1 for flame, 1 for villagers buff
woodcutter is best DPS here, so build them maximum as you can, replace 1 healer or monk depend your style
Most bosses can be shredded pretty hard with 3 tsubas and crit and worship.

In that order,: fountain, flame tsuba, tiger tsuba, crit, wind tsuba shreds a lot of bosses, an all out villager attack + Soh mostly does the rest.
i find usng spears really shred the boss as long you include the sword guard that give villager attack boost ad no knock back and 1 sword guard that cant quickly stun enemy
If you can manage to get the final Tsuba guard from the last village challenge it is SUPER strong, like when I fight the first boss it obliterates about 70% of its HP, its super slow to charge so its basically meant to be a boss killer one and done ability.

It's an excellent starter for a fight though as bosses don't tend to start immediately hopping and skipping about, and with a little prediction it's great for bursting down stance when a boss recovers too, the timing's pretty easy and the shockwave itself hits way further to the sides than you'd think.
Easiest boss in the game with the villager invincibility Tsuba and some Ascetics (assuming you have Soh kitted out). Still easy if Soh's not. Just lock down the boss with Ascetics, you won't need more than 2 or 3, and everyone else can be Woodcutters. Doesn't hurt to have a Shaman or two. Depending on the abilities you have on Soh and the damage you deal, you can kill it as it's getting its first attacks off, but the thing here is to actually be aggressive. Don't be defensive. I've never given it the chance to see what it can do, but even in the Ascetic field, it's a mobile bastard, but the key to dropping it stance-breaking it into oblivion. It has no natural defense against it. The Ascetic slow may as well be a can opener here. Don't let it get into your head, just blitz it head-on and keep stance-breaking it. Use Tsuba or charged Oka for that, and strengthen your ability to do those with Mazo. There are some really good Mazo for that if you're sleeping on them.
