Why Do You Stack Teams?
Hello there Wargame: RD "community". I have been playing multiplayer for all of about a week, and I've noticed two undeniable truths. 1. people spam arty (not the purpose of this discussion) and 2. all the so-called good players seem to always stack teams, and it's almost always BLUEFOR that is stacked.

As an example, I played in a game where 9/10 of the players on one team had >60% winrate, while 0/10 players on the opposing team had >50% winrate, most 20% or less.

So back to the question - why do you stack teams? Does it make you feel pro? Are you a teenager who just wants to grief? Does having noobs on your team just completely infuriate you? (This would be most understandable, as in the above game my fellow noobs were at times suiciding worse than the AI does.)

A piece of advice from someone who comes from a similar small RTS community (World in Conflict) - when your game degenerates to repetitive pubstomps, you kill your community by preventing noobs from ever wanting to stick with it long enough to become good, and you ultimately kill your game as a result. Good luck with that.

(edit) I would like to add this, in closing. To those who claim "but I'm only playing with friends", why don't you try to find an evenly matched opposing team of friends? You do not. There are often 2+ games of 4 stacks sitting there in 4/8 lobbies waiting for noobs to stomp rather than playing each other in a fair match. Based on this observation, I conclude you are still seeking to stack teams and just want to hide the fact from us and/or from yourself.(/edit)

I think it has to do with nationality. A lot of people prefer to play as their home country and in this case there is a large abundance of U.S and UK players who play Blufor. Nothing you can really do about it. Hell, I play Blufor only because I enjoy playing as South Korea and allying up with UK and US players. However I do see that the ratio of Blufor players to Redfor is quite unfair. But theres not much you can really do about it.

you all do realize you can play blue on blue right?

Stacking is as Almighty Kraut a matter of nationality preference most of the time - it's especially true when you go on Russian or Western Server, or when you play during the night in the US or Russia.

But it is true that in many serv, people who does not really care, look at the stats first, and then choose in which team they want to play.

I have to admit that i am tending more and more in looking at the stats, simply because i am tired of being in a team full of noobs, who do not even want to listen to advice, who didn't even look at some tutorials or at arty spammer war

People like to win, experienced players avoid obvious losses unless they are trying to lower their stats. It is a problem of design and the lack of a good matchmaker for random players. The devs want you to play the game on a team and so the design pushes you towards group play. The answer, if it is a problem for you, is to find an active group on the official forum and play with them.

I think it comes down to how many experiences you´ve had in the game with new players not caring about any tactics at all, hatespamming others during the game, and just quitting when the tide turns a bit against them, leaving other players in the ditch.
This makes players being more concerned who they team up with. It´s just a matter of winning or loosing.
There are lots of players who are willing to team up with newcomers and also give them hints, and there are players who only pubstomp.
Sure, the matching system has something to do with this, but it mostly comes down to if you like to be on a side who knows what they´re doing or not.
Making friends in the game is a great way of finding players with a similar mindset, and if more seasoned players notice you are a newcomer with good attitude, they will often befriend you.

its not worth the aggravation to be on a team of 10% winrate support deckers. It means they will be incredibly stupid, they wont ever listen. Why not pound them right into the ground?

there are about 30 things you need to know to be ok in this game. People with low winrates know 0/30. They helo spam into AA, they dont know what game mode they are playing and adjust. They dont use recon. They drive 170 pt tanks into infantry towns. They dont know about SEAD. Just no point being on their team.

If i would avoid playing against stacks i would have much higher win % then what i currently have (60~) but whats the fun in that? Complete and utter stomps are boring.

Apparently nobody has heard of "playing together with friends."
PuppyFiddler May 19, 2015 @ 12:05pm
"friends"...lol. the only friends on wargames are those sharing a similar opinion - that they need to stack to get a win to increase their win %. It's a very elitist behavior that has a detrimental affect on a game's longevity and these 'elitists' are too stupid to see it.

I've won against a team with 86%-98% win rate. It's not very hard, you just need a decent cooperative team. :P

I play in a team with my friends pure and only because of teamwork (with mics). If that is common in public matches I wouldn't have problems joining them.

Oh, and I mostly play redfor btw

People with winrates that high usually win through cheese spam tactics to win, if you know how to counter them properly you can easily win. Most legitimately good players have ~70-75% winrate in my experience.

I would like to play this game, but I dont have any friends that play it. So I have to play alone and every time I try I have to play redforce. (do not mind that, because i like them) and end up with some random ppl that dont even use the textchat to communicate and suprise suprise we get devestated beyond compare.

I will not pretend that i am good at the game myself pointing fingers at the team that they all suck, because im bad, but why is it so hard to find other players that are bad to play against to? you might say that the only way to get better is to play against ppl that are better then yourself but that is only true to a certain level. if the enemy is too good you dont learn anything, you just get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and quit playing because it is depressing.

i tried making "noobs only" games but they get filled by bluefor players with 70% winrate and 100+ games pretty fast, not even worth playing those.

Its not strange that the community of this game is dwindling.

I miss world in conflict...
