S-300, S-400 missile system to combat the Patriot
To combat the patriot missile that was added in the newest DLC i would say that adding the Russian / Soviet S-300 missile system would be a nice way to combat it since the idea is the pretty much similiar

Fair enough.

I wish they'd given the US the LAV-AD, instead. It would have filled a vacant niche better.

You already have the Kub-M.

The Patriot is an entirely different ballgame from any of the other AA in the game. Not because it's so much better in real life, but because it's a machine for a different purpose. It would be like if they gave the US the only battleship in the game, just because they (hypothetically) didn't have any good destroyers.

But the US did have the only actual Battleships. So a bad comparsion on that.

The solution to this isn't to add the S-300 so REDFOR can shut down air like the Patriot does. It's to remove the Patriot entirely because it should never have been added. It's had a terrible effect on the air meta.

Replace it with the Bradley Linebacker or the LAV-AD so the US has a decently armored AA system that can accompany the frontline. The i-Hawk Pip III was a perfectly adequate rear-line AA system as it was.

Disclaimer: I make the following argument from a gameplay balance standpoint. I will go ahead and concede that does seem irregular - if not illogical - to open up this part of the US inventory and not its Soviet counterpart.

Is the Patriout out of line with all other missiles in the game? Undoubtedly. It has an unmatched combination of range, accuracy, and power when compared to every other SAM in the game. It is also without peer in price and availability - equivalent in many cases to an Air Superiority Aircraft. (120 points per launcher, one to two launchers per card with only a single card available.) This high price is combined with a complete inability to target helicopters - a very significant disadvantage. (Especially against the soviet KA-52 with its SEAD abilities) Not only that, it also occupies a spot in a very high demand portion of the deck that might be better served with either more utilitarian anti air units (Hawk PIP-III) or artillery. (Support)

It is a unique unit with unique advantages and disadvantages that keep it limited to a fairly specific niche - much as the F-117 was in Airland Battle. Just because something fills a particular role very well doesn't necessitate a counterpart and/or equivalent. Sometimes, it just adds a little variety.

TL;DR: The Patriot is excellent at a very particular job and comes with a very particular set of risks. I think that factions having unique units like this around is often entertaining and can lead to an effective asymetrical balance.

S300 can not combat the Patriot, it is an anti air weapon, they shoot at planes.

One thing to note is that Eugen already ventured into out-of-scale weapons with the AIM-54 and R-33. Adding the Patriot isn't much different, however, until the F-14 is back in the air tab there isn't much reason to add the S-300. On mixed maps when the F-14 is available, REDFOR have superior ships.
