WRD Download Failing

I'm trying to download Red Dragon for the first time, but the download always stalls out at 108.6mb in. My download rate is ~2.4mb/s, but it drops to 300 to 500kb/s at 108.6mb and progress seems to cease. The download fluctuates between Starting and Downloading rapidly, and displays 0/0bytes have been downloaded from time to time, when at other points it displays 108.6 has been downloaded.

Any ideas? I've tried the flushconfig and .blob methods, I've restarted, and I've changed my download server. I've tried downloading other games (even WALB) and they've worked fine. Red Dragon is the only game that gives me this issue.

Same exact problem here. after 7 hours still at 0%. The download folder was up to 16GB of data, but it looks like the same few files from that initial 108mb being duplicated over and over. It seems like it has something to do with it trying to install a patch or update before the game has finished downloading. most frustrating. If you find a solution, please post it here.

Not yet. At least with my situation, Steam is downloading the same 30mb exe over and over, putting it into a series of folders (2100001305, 306, etc)

I submitted a ticket as well. Hopefully they come through for us soon. Kinda dissapointed I just bought this and can't even play.

I think this has been fixed. Made it past 108.6 for the first time so *fingers crossed*

I just kept deleting all local files when it failed and kept trying. It's most of the way downloaded now so maybe I just got lucky. No idea what was causing it.

I did the same as VD0515, deleting local content and re-trying from scratch until it took off. An hour or so later, I got down to 46 seconds remaining and 11.9GB / 12 GB completed, and it's doing the same thing all over again. It flashes between that and 0 / 0, between downloading and starting. Nothing I can do will push it to finish. It is the exact same behavior at 99% done now as described above during the first 108 MB.

Edit: I have managed to finish the download. I'm not sure which of the things I tried got it to work. I had switched it to make updates high priority this time around, but then while it was stuck at the end I paused download, disabled auto-updating, resumed and it finally finished downloading.

I also ran the vcredist C++ and Direct X installs separately from the wargame _commonredist folder while Steam was closed, but I kinda doubt that fixed it.

I probably deleted local content and restarted the download 5 times before it finally went beyond 108.6 MB. I had tried it withotu success just before I saw VD's post, but I tried again and it worked.
