Last nights update broke linux/steam deck compatibility with proton
As the title says, the game updated itself last night and now it crashes on start up with all proton versions. Complains about access violation.

Interesting, I've only just switched to linux and yesterday i have started trying out games with proton, i installed wargame last night and got this same error. I assume you are getting the first eugen video then a black screen which eventually brings up this error box?

Also i have manually set compatibility tools to "proton experimental", i understand this forces steam to download the windows version as the linux native is apparently discontinued.

Yes, It appears to be working for me too, I'm not sure what was changed though.
