Wargame: Red Dragon

My buddy and I both have Wargame, and play often. This summer, a bunch of us are going RV camping, so there will be no internet access. We are bringing the computers, and trying to figure out a way we can still play Wargame in skirmish mode, or against each other.

So to clarify: two computers, two steam accounts, two copies of Wargame, however no internet access for about 5 days. How to play skirmish over a LAN under these conditions?

To my knowledge you can't. You need an online connection to play MP.

Why not just add a 4G Wi-Fi access point (egg) to your list, and you are up and go.

That will absolutely wreck your data usage unless you have unlimited. Also, theyre going RV camping. Good luck with 4G connectivity in the wilderness!

Wargame really needs to add an - unranked - LAN option to the game, so that when the Servers go down, we aren't instantly booted.

Thanks Nomad for assuming were just hanging in front of PC's. FYI, we're a bunch of married guys in our 40's whom are getting away to a music festival for 5 days in the Sierra Nevadas of California.

This is our chance to be away from the women and do whatever we want, which is a luxury. We will be drinking, partying, dancing, fishing, and yes, when its time to relax, we will even be gaming. Especially with my brand new HTC Vive VR headset, and especially when I'm slightly under the influence ;)

Anyways, for everyone else, thanks for your input, and we will figure out a plan for other games.

Nomad why don't you google "High Sierra" and "Guitarfish" and tell me if this sounds like were 'locking up' in an RV.

Just so you know, some of us are dealing with PTSD, and its difficult to stay packed into loud crowds for extended periods. It's nice to have an escape, and having an RV, playing a game for an hour in the wee hours of the night, provides a secure quiet location.

Not upset. Just throughout my life, I have grown weary of people making assumptions based on limited information, then injecting their opinion, based on their assumption.

Not even remotely 'upset', but I'm aware that typed communications can project perceived emotion.

Actually, just sitting here waiting for a movie to finish downloading, and researching "sendmehere's" suggestion to log on using mobile phone and wondering if I can disconnect from steam once were connected over LAN. So, I have time to waste til movie is downloaded, therefore you are keeping me entertained.

Then why did you say this?:

"PS: If you go camping, you might think about doing something different than just hanging in front of your PC for 5 days."

Or perhaps you shouldn't be posting off topic opinions, and not expect a response.

Especially when you're opinion is wrong and assuming.

I learned about online forums back in the BBS days. So, it's no skin off my back to engage someone that's being presumptuous and off topic.

just messing around, doesn't mean I want to hear your biography.

You need to learn a lot about online forums mate.

Mate, you need to learn a lot about not making an arse of yourself.
