Give all assets to all bots and push hard. (ONLY CONQUEST GAMES)
May I ask, how do you customize the UI in order to see, i.e. which kind of infantry comes with which transport? The icons are not that helpful, either.
Hence in game, I'm just scratching my head, while the transports are being destroyed.
Do you simply unload your transports, in order to see what troups they carry, then load
only those that you need atm?
Any help appreciated.
I have an answer to this problem.
There are no labels to read whats in a transport but there are symbols. separate pictures for rifle infantry AA missile inf and ATGMs on the labels describing whats in the transports.
The thing that does get a little sketchy is mixing line rifle infantry with SF and marines, this is where you have to use techniques to get around it.
-When building my decks I will often put different kinds of infantry in different kinds of transports to make it easier spot them for starters.
-when deploying your units before the battle begins you dont have to cram them tighty at the starting line of the race into the sector.
Cramming them tightly makes it hard to grab the unit clusters and send them where they are supposed to go while they are moving.
I usually put about 4 car length spaces between between each cluster on the road leading to the starting line. it makes my labels easier to separate from my allies as well.
...So if your units are stretched out in a "300-500meter" column and you've completely memorized what youve deployed at the begining of the game then you can send things exactly where they are supposed to go.
-Another thing you can do is deploy units in different amount to make the labels easy to discern.
Usually if im deploying stingers I buy them as singles, line infantry comes as 40 special forces and marines in groups of 2-3
You specifically mentioned ATGMs. I kinda like to bring my ATGM infantry into a town shortly after after my rifle infantry have garrisoned buildings.
I'm usually pretty snappy about getting into the town first but sometimes the opposing players do get there before me. often with rocket armed helicopters,....
I don't mind having to fight them for the position, its doable,...but if the rifle infantry arent even garrisoned into buidings before fighting starts you just know 2man ATGM squads just aren't going to do well in the middle of all that.
one nice play is sending a cheap avenger/ vbl mistral/ bdrm strela1 vehicle with the initial rifle force to fend off helicopters as the infantry are just arriving.
Thanks a lot, very useful. Will order different types of infantry in different amounts, try to space them out more during deployment and use the zoom more frequently.
I like having both more affordable transports and faster ones with some fire support capabilities for the basic infantry in my deck, though. Or transports that counter armour/air, like the specialized infantry that they are carrying, in order to enhance its effectivness.
So far, I let my AI ally fight the battles, while trying to figure out the hotkeys.
What do you use the naval section for, if I may ask? Do you put ships in it? Or some anti-ship weapons, in order to protect your landing troups against your opponent's ships, in case they bring some?
Everybody, thank you for your advice, and the OP for the thread!
