How to fix the "desync" bug when playing multiplayer with friends.
Hi,

Im having a frustrating error, when i play in multi.
I spend 20 inutes playing the game with a friend, only to find out, that he is not playing with me.
We are both in same game, and have nice ping( 15ms ) and chat and beacons work, but, the map and unit placements are completely different. As if he left, and AI took over. But, there was no error, no ping issue, nothing.

Its frustrating because it wastes so much time, before you realize that you are playing different games. Also, this happened 4-5 times in a row today, with us being in the same team against ai, and us being against each other.

Like what Nandemonai has asked, it does sound like one of you is playing with a game that has had been modded in some way. Even the slighest change between one persons game and another can cause surprising issues, altering the amount of supplies in the FOB for instance.

No, neither of us is using mods of any kind.
The only difference is that i have an extra DLC, ( netherlands dec ) which im not using btw, when playing with him.

And it still happens today.

It may be worth you and your friend verifying integrity of game cache, just to ensure there are no difference.

If that dosen't workl report it over on the Eugen forums. I've not heard of it being a common issue related to DLCs, but it only take a different mesh to cause a desync, so see what they think the issue is.
