bad controls are bad, why should I "get better" at bad controls.
If you can't remember a button that is 110% a skill issue no offense.
unlike bad controls which isn't a skill issue.
I don't see how optional additional controls is a bad thing, you can remap
I just don't think all these functions should be tied under 1 button
If you happen to have Starter Deck, would you prefer to reach for a different button each time to swap instead of using the same button that drops your consumables?
Do you need an extra button to use Schoolbag or Little Baggy? They're really similar items, and that's essentially what you're doing when you're playing with Jacob and Esau. Would you want another exclusive key for whether you control Jacob or Esau?
The only idea you have I would find convenient is dropping consumables and trinkets immediately. But still I've never had issues with the 'complexity' of using the RT/Ctrl key for a number of niche applications.
The Starter Deck and the Little Baggy aside, I wouldn't actually mind a separate button for the Schoolbag.
Yes, actually. Why not?
That said, I can't think of a natural way to implement such additional buttons in the game, because that would require the player to know what a specific button does when otherwise it is vastly unused.
There could be two different button for "swapping" and "dropping", yes, and characters like the Forgotten and J&E could use either of those to change between forms and play a specific character respectively. It could help somewhat.
I'm using keyboard there is 21 keys not counting WASD easily within my reach.
I also changed shooting to numbad 8456 and that adds 13 additional keys within finger reach.
It takes no effort to press any of these 24 additional buttons I could use. Yeah, give me more options.
Still waiting for the part where you explain how it would be of benefit to have different buttons.
Okay
So considering this is a fast paced game I need to react accordingly at specific times.
Say worst case scenario.
I'm playing forgotten/lost and I have a backpack and extra card room.
I need to use the card in a specific way for the active item but the problem is I have to keep spamming ctrl just to use it in the meanwhile it keeps flipping me to forgotten/lost and messing up my flow of combat.
Gets EVEN WORSE with jacob/esau because ctrl manually controls jacob and it messes up their movement unlike forgotten/lost where lost snaps back inside forgotten.
but what if jacob has a backpack and esau has extra card room and not to mention holding down ctrl and standing still for too long drops all my consumables and trinkets
Do you realize how many times I have to spam the control button just to use a specific item?
ctrl = active item swap
alt = pill/card swap
ctrl = jacob
alt = esau
Drop = ctrl + alt (eliminates the chance of dropping items when manual controlling jacob)
If somehow you can't remember alt is a button then I don't know what to tell you. It doesn't hurt to have multiple buttons.
Trying to micro manage 2 individual characters and all their items and consumables under 1 button which has to be cycled in 1 direction is bad controls.
Not to mention the same button is used to drop those items if held down, which you need to hold down to control Jacob.
This is by definition bad controls.
This is ad hominem. Which you seem to be afraid of considering your profile is private.
