Occasional FPS Drops
I'm experiencing fps drops (and game running in slow mo as a consequence, feels like 0.5-0.7 speed) sometimes, usually on alt floors, final bossfights and always when getting 2nd knife piece.

Anybody had this issue and/or knows how to potentially make it better?

My best guess is just that my laptop lacks power, but i find it hard to believe. It manages the chaos of risk of rain 2, for example, so what's the problem here? just some visual effects?

if you've installed mods it could be because of mods, but no this is probably not the fault of ur pc since i'm playing this on a complete potato with few fps drops

maybe its a problem with a game try to disable or enable v sync and maybe if you have multiple montiors try to adjust display or graphics settings helped for me when i had screen tearing but it might help!

just as an fyi, if you don't know where to change vsync options, go to Documents\My Games\Binding of Isaac Repentance\options.ini and change Vsync= to either 0 or 1
edit: i just noticed that you have 1k hours so you probably do know about that, but still, better to say that than not

i have vsync enabled, and i've read that it makes it better, so never bothered to turn it off. ill see if does make a difference. thanks!
update: didn't help :(
update 2: in the end i think it's all my laptop's performance. the only "argument" against is other games where it seems to be better, but who knows what's going on there. i have the game lag on a laptop (on my pc it worked perfectly fine), which is expected from a less powerful machine, and it lags primarily with either a bunch of entities or effects on the screen. so i'm pretty sure it's case closed in the end, but i hope i find some ways to make it better. thanks for offering help!

alright, i googled a bunch of stuff, messed around and figured it out.
the issue was, again, most probably performance, so if you're having the same issue, here's what i did:

1) browse game's files from steam (Disc:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\The Binding of Isaac Rebirth), go to resource folder, add config.ini
I made it to this:
[Options] EnableColorCorrection=0 EnableCaustics=1 EnableShockwave=1 EnableLighting=0 EnableFilter=0 EnablePixelation=1 EnableBloom=0 EnableWaterSurface=0 EnableInterpolation=1
you can tweak the numbers, what i found is that with all 0s the game runs at 2x the speed, probably bc of how fps works or something idk.
i think the default is all 1s, i figured those numbers i wrote are what works for me

2) go to options.ini (Documents\My Games\Binding of Isaac Repentance\options.ini) and change MaxRenderScale=2 to 1. or don't, depends on how the game's performing

with all above changed (config tweaks and render=1) i checked the game's performance using console in all problematic parts before (main ones being knife piece 2 sequence & op builds) and found absolutely no fps drops!

thank you to everyone who answered, you made me go into this deeper and find the solution!
