How to Fix Mods Not Working. (REPENTANCE+) (Edit: Also fixes game not working)

As you may have noticed, Mods no longer work with the new *Repentance+* online update.

UNFORTUNATELY, Mods will not work with the new online feature with friends or on the new update in general until mod creators have the time to update their respective mods with the updated API and such they will persist to be unusable. This might take some time and with this update technically being a "Beta" with future updates and patches being foreshadowed mods may not be in a stable state for some time on this new version.

WHAT YOU CAME FOR --- At the moment the only way to get mods to work is to navigate to: Steam Library/Binding of Isaac/Select the *DLC* Tab close the the GREEN Play option. From there uncheck the *Repentance+* Addon and update game.
This will roll you back to the classic Repentance we all know with your old workshop mods saved and installed. This just means you will no longer be able to use the online feature or new item changes in this build. You can always turn this back on by going back to *DLC* and re selecting the *Repentance+* DLC. Your data should be safe and sound :)

One work around may be to try Repentagon but i have yet to try this. will be attempting soon.

TLDR: Unselect new Repentance+ DLC from The Binding of Isaac DLC popout in steam library.

TLDR2: If game black screening Attempt to verify game files and relaunch. If still not working this could be a problem with some CPUs or GPUs give it time. For now play on old patch.

Hope this helps the ones struggling :) The unfortunate few who's game got 100% bricked by update just give them some time. Online Multiplayer is not an easy thing to implement especially in a 15 year old game that wasn't designed to have it. It'll work eventually :)

you can use mods in the repentance+ beta, but only in singleplayer as you mentioned, you just need to put them in C:\Users\your-username-here\Documents\My Games\Binding of Isaac Repentance+\mods

its a use at your own risk type of thing though due to the api change and such

it also requires you to copy-paste your mods from your already existing mods folder into that new folder, im unsure why this change was made but its how it is, as said in the WARNING.txt in that directory:

"Mods you're subscribed to won't automatically be installed. You can manually copy them here and they'll be loaded, BUT DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK. Mods that haven't been ported to work with The Binding of Isaac: Repentance+ may cause unpredictable behavior or crashes."

I highly suggest to wait for mods updates, because if you use repentogon they will not load properly

there should be a C drive folder somewhere in the isaac game folder where you can navigate to steamuser/documents

my rep+ mods folder is inside game files not my documents and is not working. I see the mods in game but none of them work enabling

To anyone like me who does not get the OP's instructions.
Here you go:

1. Go to your Library.
2. On the left panel in the list of your games, right+click then go to Properties.
3. In this new popup window, Go to DLC and uncheck the Repentance+ DLC.
4. Close and update the game.

On Linux with native Steam package it's /home/damglador/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/250900/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/My Games/Binding of Isaac Repentance+/ for me, but it will be different for you, you can just search for key words though. I found it by searching for "Repentance+"
