Online play disconnect robs you of getting completion marks/achievements
I know its just day one!! and there's sure to be many changes & quirks!! but i just wanna express my thoughts after playing a few games today!!

I completely understand how & why the no achievement mark shows up, but it kinda sucks that you can play an entire run and -as an example- DC on the last floor and get robbed of all ur progress towards a completion mark or an achievement.

if ur rejoining after you DC, the game remembers all ur items, what health you were at, and all pickups. Which is amazing, but it also gives you the no achievement symbol on the left side of ur screen, the same thing that happens on seeded runs or challenges. (you can no longer unlock anything in that run & if you aren't playing for fun its basically a waste of time. ) (nothing wrong with that but im talking progression for people that want to progress.)

Considering the punishment for DCing is already missing out on an entire floor, I think its a bit much to strip people of their unlocks if they beat a run. Willingly joining again just to have ur progress locked away is kinda upsetting.

Obviously the worry is people joining on the last stage before a completion mark just to collect it and get rewarded for doing nothing, but surely there a way to have this feature in place without harming people that've been in the game since the start, especially if they don't swap characters or anything.

Hard to argue against though because if you DC in the first place forces ur friend or whoever is left playing in the game to progress. They need to make it to the start of the next floor for you to get back in, and only then are you able to pick up where you left off.

There are many exploits people could/would take advantage of without this feature in place, so i see its value; but im confident there's a way to make a DC, (which 80% of the time is prob out of peoples control) less punishing. (speaking from experience, I enjoyed all of my runs with my friends and the community today but all of them had severe performance issues and 2 of them everyone disconnected expect one person, upon joining back its a done run for everyone except the host.)

Nah its just garbage, you shouldnt be punished for getting DC'ed atall when most of the time it wont be your fault.

Pretty sure people getting "dc'ed" just have the weakest network and the host manually kicks them to lower the input lag lmao. Simple as that, we kicked two people who had unplayable internet, it slows the game down for everyone if you let them play.

Yeah i def agree, I've had a few games where ppl join mid match and when they spawn in next floor performance decreases dramatically. Had a few good runs that ended up crashing though which is just frustrating considering in solo you can just start up ur run @ the start of the floor you crashed on and continue, no punishment except time, (and maybe retracing steps)

After defeating mom's heart on the alt path -exiting the boss room after using the knife to fight mom's heart early- the corpse room doesn't load and crashes ur game. idk if its situational but its happened twice today lol
