Tired of finding always the same items

in almost 80 hours of playtime i've NEVER found soy milk or brimstone.

Yet in almost EVERY run i find the same 9-10 items like:

Bob's head
Infamy
Revenge fly
Crickets head
Moms eyeshadows
Moms bottle of pills
Tiny mushroom
Dead cat
Guppys collar
Little steven
Proptotis

This is getting out of hand and this game is starting to bore me to death.

Am i the only one having this problem? The items are there, its just they aren't rotating much..this game needs VARIETY

You could try to enter your own seeds by pressing TAB on the main screen. I think you just have bad luck.

Sounds like some really bad luck. I've been playing the game and I'm getting completely different stuff almost every run. Only had a few repeats.

RNG has different outcomes for different people. Stick with it and you'll see different things.

It's an acronym for Random Number Generation/Generator. Used on the interwebs to mean random chance.

Remember that some items have the 'special' quality, making them much rarer than normal. Some items appear in multiple item pools and a few items can be found in golden and red chests, making the, extremely common.

These items have the special quality, making them appear less frequently per run (needs verification):
Pyromaniac
Brimstone
Mom's Knife
Soy Milk
Pyromaniac
Ludovico Technique
Mutant Spider (Quad Shot)
Polyphemus
Sacred Heart
Dr. Fetus
D6
Epic Fetus
D100
Stop Watch
Godhead

These items are found in locked golden chests. They are very common:
Cricket's Head
Tammy's Head
Bob's Rotten Head
Guppy's Head
Infamy
Goat Head
Bob's Brain
Fate
Abel

Lastly red chest items. You are likely to pickup at least one or two of them per run, maybe even more if you have the left hand:
Dead Cat
Guppy's Paw
Guppy's Tail
Guppy's Head
Guppy's Collar
Goat Head
Pandora's Box

Some items also appear in a multitude of pools. Some items can also be acquired through various means. For example:
Mom's Coin Purse
Mom's Bottle of Pills
One of the mom items (Mom's Underwear/Mom's Lipstick/Mom's Heels)
1-3 of the food items (Breakfast/Lunch/Snack/Dinner/Rotten Meat)
The map items (Treasure Map/Blue Map/Compass)
Ceremonial Robes
Gimpy
The Quarter (Drops from Pots and Greed/Super Greed)
Mini Mush/Magic Mushroom (Drops from Mushrooms)
Ghost Baby (Drops from Skulls)
Little Steven (Item Room + Drops from Steven Boss)
A Small Rock

As you can see, many of the items you listed in fact appear more than regular items. Brimstone and Soy Milk are listed as special items and seem to appear a lot less than normal.

But now that you make me notice it, i've never found Pyromaniac & dr.fetus either.

I understand these items are labeled "special" but god...not even once in 80 hours of playtime? this really hurts the current replayability of the game imo.

Don't worry I feel ya. I haven't found Sacred Heart or D6 and I just recently got Soy Milk (it sucks) and Dr. Fetus. For some reason, Quad Shot and Ludovico seems to be a lot more common than the others.

If you're looking for Brimstone or Mom's Knife, set the precedent for Devil Deals. They aren't too uncommon, though they are only 1 out of 40 or so items, not to mention Brimstone is a Devil exclusive. I've had at least 3 or 4 runs with Brimstone and at least 4 runs with Mom's Knife, one of which that was one on my first item room , in contrast to Pyromaniac and Dr. Fetus.

If you want to play with an interesting item, you can choose to restart until you get a special item, though the game becomes sort of uninteresting. Also this website is awesome (massive spoilers):http://platinumgod.co.uk/rebirth

soy milk is pretty meh unless you have libra and dr. fetus sucks real bad. also, JGDAWG, dry baby drops from skulls too, so you might wanna add that to the list.

Had the same problem, use seed BASEMENT and play as judas. refreshed item pool for me for the most part. try diffrent characters also with BASEMENT

i dont know how do you guys get all those itens...im sick getting only health upgrades from my runs...
and when i get to the heart im doing so little dmg that i can only count with my bombs...and lets say...it will not end well for the majority of my runs...
there was this run were i was full eternal hearts with some speed upgrades...im getting so mad with this game XD
