Maybe I'm just lucky, but I've tended to find pills, in general, more beneficial than detrimental. Not to say I don't get health downs from time to time just like everyone else.

You should always take pills, unless you're in a really terrible position. Note that some pills turn into positive pills under certain conditions (bad trip will become full health if you have one or less red heart, health down becomes health up if you have only 1 heart container. The thing is that you identified the pills, which is a pretty big deal. You don't want to find out just before you fight one of the final bosses that one pill takes your health down, or that you don't want to risk to take a pill that could potentially fully heal you.

Why not? The Lost actually has less chance for bad pills. The worst thing that can happen is a tears down pill, which isn't that much of a deal. I just beat the Lamb just yet all because I found 'I can see forever' pill which made me find the secret room that gave me enough pennies for a stopwatch.

That's just bad luck, there are those runs where you get insanely good pills
But i will keep taking ??? pills no matter what

My rules is that I stop taking unknown pills once I reach the womb. Had a number of runs destroyed by hematamisis.

It seems like usually in a run (in my experience), there's either mostly good ones or mostly bad ones.

I feel your pain. Amnesia is so terrible, r u a wizard laughs in my face, and all the stat down pills just kick me when im down.
