Firstly, your aunt is a numpty and is ironically abusing you with this rubbish opinionated nonsense.

The game wholeheartedly is an homage to kids who have suffered abuse, its a game FOR them and their imaginations. Its rather beautiful, like alot of Edmunds work

Remind her that the basis of the story - indeed the very title of the game - is directly out of the Bible (Genesis 22)... so if anything it's really the Bible that's condoning child abuse. I'm sure that'll go over well. :)

In the game you're supposedly playing as Isaac trying to escape, thus saving him. Although I personally think Isaac is already dead and you're on some Dante's Inferno-esque journey through the afterlife. (It's either that, or Isaac is incredibly well read for what appears to be his age and has a fantastically morbid imagination)

Well I was told more then that, she did have some strong evidence, like how Isaac had to deal all sorts of horrible crap just attempting to escape from the abuse of is mother, how fighting in the womb and slaying mom's heart is like Isaac is gitting revenge on how his mother treated him, how duking it out with Satin him self is Isaac fighting off evil, but you know what I kinda agree with your opinion.

I think she knows that.

If she knows all that why on earth does she think its encouraging child abuse as apposed to making a statement about being against it? In her logic does that mean every filom about WW2 encourages people to be Nazis?!

Uhh, yeah, the game teaches us that child abuse is horrible and traumatising.
Which is pretty much absolutely correct.

So what you're trying to say is that the game actually encourages monster abuse?
Archbishop Havel Dec 29, 2014 @ 8:19pm
Yes. Basement, Cellar, Caves, Catacombs, Necropolis, Depths, Utero, Womb, Cathederal, Chest and Sheol monster abuse. Any monsters outside of B.C.C.C.N.D.U.W.C.C.S may be excused.:Owl:

This game has many themes such as Child abuse, but it does not encourage it.
January 2035 Dec 29, 2014 @ 8:27pm
I guess the answer to that question lies in the age-old question of: If a game presents it, does it encourage it?
This is pretty much false as we can somewhat agree from the videogames causing violence stuff, and presently, and more controversially, the video games causing misogyny stuff.

So, yeah, this is a game featuring child abuse at some level, that much is true. Extrapolations from that are up to you I suppose!

That is like saying "the boy in the striped pajamas" promotes nazis.

Or how "the hunger games" promotes a dystopian future.

Or how "the green mile" promotes kiling innocent people.
