To Enable Mouse Control
go to C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\Documents\My Games\Binding of Isaac Rebirth
edit options.ini

Change MouseControl=0 to MouseControl=1

Save. You now have mouse control for shooting. Very handy and no idea why there is no in game option for this feature.

I can confirm this works.

Edit:

Stick the "MouseControl=1" into the file if it isn't in there.

Right click on the file, go to "Properties" then check the box entitled "Read-Only", otherwise it will just change it back.

I don't like this approach. Why people need to discover secret options.ini entries and edit them to change an option. Then why there's an options section in game?

You are free to enjoy the game as YOU want to, others are free to enjoy it how THEY want to. You do not have to do this. Congrats if you choose not to, congrats to those who choose to.

Mine never reverted back without read only. I'm not sure why yours would. The option was even in the ini file when I opened it.

It is possible that the devs thought to put it back in in the last patch and that those who updated to the new version did not have their INI file updated. I installed at the 1.04 version.

I wish I could congrat you too only if you could understand what i wrote.

Oh, sorry. So many people have complained about using the mouse as being undesired that I read what you said wrong.

Yes, it should be in an game option.

Is there a way to do this on a mac? I've been trying to get mouse control for ages.
tannim Jan 4, 2015 @ 3:32pm
I do not know much about macs. I suspect that the same file exists for a mac, but I do not know where it is. You may try searching your filesystem (with whatever file name search tool you have or can get) for options.ini

There are probably a few as that is a common name. You'd have to figure out which one belongs to binding of isaac.

About macs:
I believe macs are behind by a update, so that is probably why its not there
tannim Jan 4, 2015 @ 4:06pm
This mentions some mac game folders are hidden, it may make it easier to find things if you unhide them.

Also, according to the Known Issues thread, your file should be located in
Mac OS X: ~/Library/Application Support/Binding of Isaac Rebirth/
