sharp plug not working?

sometimes the sharp plug doesn't work and I don't know why.
i'll be playing and it works to recharge my d6 on one level, but then on the next level, i'll be trying to make it work and it won't work, i just keep pressing the button and nothing happens.

and yes, i have enough hearts.
it least, i assumed that 12 full hearts would be enough...

is it because they are blue hearts? but i've seen it work with blue hearts before

i know that the item has to have ZERO charge for sharpplug to work. beat one room and you get one charge (ex. 1 outta 6) meaning sharpplug is null. And that one battery item (i forget the name) gives you an extra charge all the time nulifying sharpplugs usefulness.

Sharp plug only works if you have exactly 0 charge on your use item. So you may not finish a combat room, which would provide 1 charge, after using the Item if you want to use sharp plug.

If you buy 9-Volt-Battery, which will provide one Charge immediately after Use, you cannot use Sharp plug the entire run.

that must be why...i did buy the 9 volt, so every time i used my d6 i always got 1 charge back.
this seems like a bug. it should be fixed.
