Damage cap?
Does Rebirth have a damage cap? Just curious, really.

At some point dmg upgrages will give you less benifit, but no solid cap, only soft cap.

Getting Brimstone and Polyphemus together isn't the cap, at least. It oneshots pretty much everything but I could still see improvements against the few things it didn't kill later on after getting Cricket's Head and Pentagram.

There is no dmg cap is this game. there is however a soft cap, where dmg ups will give you less benefits. that happens because the dmg formula has a square root, which means it will keep growing but the more it grows the less benefits will make.

I know of the soft cap in the origional, i'm just asking if there's a cap in rebirth.

Pretty sure the dmg formula didnt change in rebirth. So no, there's not a dmg cap in rebirth.

Right, thanks. It just seemed I was doing the same ammount of damage after getting a lot of ups late game, so I thought there might be a cap.

This is mostly covered, but to explain in further detail:

Most stats in the game are not capped - Speed and Tear Rate are the only ones that are (though Shot Speed does have a minimum).

Most damage increases are put into a formula where every single increase is less effective than the last, but still helpful. The in-game stat screen will show you at max 7/7 damage at a mere 10.50 damage; Poly alone on Isaac will bring your damage to 15.00, or Ipecac to 43.50.
