Three hours, you'd have a point. But after 110 hours? The guy deserves his item. I got it on my fifth run.
• Clear out the first with D6 Isaac, which you should already have. This takes 45 to 120 seconds. Then deduce where the Secret Room is from that. Plant the bomb. Restart if there's no item.
Now Rebirth Secret Room spawns are a little weird compared to the original. The rule of thumbs (three rooms surrounding means a guaranteed spawn, will always spawn next to an item or shop if it can) don't really apply, and I've found that - at least on the first floor - Secret Rooms can spawn in the middle of nowhere. It's not great.
I've also found that the rates of a Secret Room Item spawn are about 10%, compared to the originals' 90%. Yeah. Most I've had to wait is 18 attempts. Keep a tally, and listen to some podcast, it'll delay the amount of time it takes to go insane.
• Wait until Depths I, and then defeat Greed/Super Greed and reroll Steam Sale. Alternatively, spawn a Blood Donor Machine or Beggar and have them spawn an item and reroll that. Alternatively, Pandora's Box.
Any item rerolled within the Secret Room rerolls to the Secret Room item pool. You can even bomb Secret Room along the way.
• Set up a Sparkplug/Explosive Tears/D6/Pyromaniac infinite reroll combo, and then use one of the above two methods to reroll an item. This actually guarantees the item, but considering the absurdly low chances for an item spawn or even a Sin spawn this could take anywhere from 10-20 attempts, and each attempt could run you up to 45 minutes. I gave it about 5, myself.
• Cut off your tongue. Mail it to Edmund McMillen. It's what he wants. It's obvious that's what he wants. And when you start crying tears of blood, rub them gently into your screen for increased luck.
He hates you. He hates me. He hates all of us.
Edmund McMillen.
So yeah, sounds kinda hard.
