After you get 999 coins can you just take them out and still get the stopwatch to spawn or do you have to donate past 1k?

Personally i haven't unlocked it but it should because black candle still shows up for me and i dont have enough money in the machine for it to technically be unlocked

when the pop-up came that you unlocked it, then its unlocked even if you have less than 999 coins in the machine. when you want to be certain that you unlcked it, go to stats - secrets and then to 138/178

Btw does the stopwatch stack with the broken watch or the hourglass or any other slowing items?

It's not supposed to show up every run after you unlock it. If you've seen it once, it's obviously unlocked. It's just rare.

No, there's no such thing as double-slow.

Just be careful the Stop in stopwatch actually means the fun will stop as most enemies basically stop working.
