What is the little sheet above your win streak counter?
Ive got a little sheet above the win streak counter on the character menu and when it comes to selecting cain a little heart appears in it, what does this mean?

It certainly doesnt mean hes my favourite character...

That's the progress for the character. The heart means you killed Mom's heart. There are 6 marks total on the sheet and there are additional red marks for doing each of them in hard mode.

6 marks total.

a Heart = Mom's Heart is defeated,
a Cross = Isaac is defeated.
an upside down Cross = Satan is defeated.
a Picture of the Negative = The Lamb is defeated
a Picture of the Polaroid = The Chest is defeated

Still don't know what the Star means.

The star is for beating boss rush. You can access boss rush by beating Mom in under 20 minutes.
