question about item pools (trying to break the game)

anyone know if i can get "devil room" items or "angel room" items if the "item room"(yellow entrance) pool gets exausted?

i'm trying to break the game with the D20 and the D6
and also getting the super bandage girl achivment

Since the reverse is possible I'd wager that this might be too. It'll just take a lot longer to exhaust the treasure room item pool.

Also I think you mean the D6, don't you?

There's no D12 though.
The only other items that reroll pedestal items are the D4 and D100.

let me explain, get pyromaniac+sharp plug+ipecap or pyro or a ton of bombs
i would go to the shop --> bomb the donation machine a lot of times -->use D20 on the coin( i would need both dices to be in the same floor)--> get item pedestals( not sure how to write this)--> reroll the crap out of them-->get items that i'm missing for the real platinum god achivment ;)

^^Blank card+pethro (or just pethro) can also act as a 4-charge D6 (and can be combined with other blank card abuses such as jera spam too)

^That'd be the D20 and D6; the D20 rerolls consumables including chests (even opened ones I believe), the D6 rerolls pedestal items.

There's a D12 in the community remix for the original iirc, but all it did was re-roll bosses...it's not in rebirth though.

Actually, more on topic: I exhausted the item pool in the chest (jera/pethro abuse on the 1st chest room) a little while back and didn't get most of the angel room or secret room items in the process - presumably all of the room-specific ones were missed. This is the item pool used for golden chests in the chest floor that I exhausted, which may not be the same pool as treasure rooms/items chests normally - at the very least it didn't go through all unlocked items, so there's some limitations even when pushing the item pool to the point of spawning lots of breakfast items. I did get several items that I normally find in the devil room/angel room/secret room and basically everything from the library pool, but I suspect that's just down to them being part of the normal item pool anyway.

Ah, I guess it only goes one way then. I just returned from a brief look at my second save files BASE MENT run and started noticing regular items in the devil room, before they eventually turned into breakfast.

I imagine the normal item pool is used after a special pool is exhausted, and when the normal pool is exhausted it just spams breakfast (or a weird undefined item in the original =P).

I noticed red chests in curse rooms can contain some angel room items as well as devil room ones - though the devil room ones seem far far more common. It might be worth duping them I guess for angel/devil room items. I'll probably try that next time I get blank card+jera. Unfortunately not as safe to play around with as the ones in the chest (when you don't have left hand, anyway). Fortunately, keys won't be a limiter though, as it could take an awful lot of chests.

since i'm super unlucky getting items like, godhead or sacred heart( i've never seen then in 100+ hours), i thought that this method would help

^I still haven't found those 2 either, nor many other angel room items for that matter - I think the best bet is just taking the D6 to an angel room, preferably with a 48hr energy pill or 2 and the extra item charge battery item, bomb the angel statue+fight so there's an extra item in the room, and then re-roll until you get what you want. It'll probably take several playthroughs still though, and of course means skipping devil room deals, no matter how tempting they may be.

I think most of the items I'm missing atm are secret room and angel room specific items. The chest dupe abuse got me most of the other items I didn't already have. I did get both super meat boy and bandage girl achievements from that bit with the item pool stuff though - took monster manual out when it popped up in the overflowing room of chests and just spammed it with my overflowing room of batteries lol.

the luck is real
i've spent more than 6 hours trying to get both achivments( meat boy and bandage girl)
i was lucky and the book of revelations gave me 4 cubes of meat
but i'm getting super frustrated trying so hard just to get the bandage girl achivment
