No seriously, if you don't like hard mode, don't play it. Nobody is forcing you to do it.
Hard mode is for the people that want a good challenge in their game.
Now without the sarcasm: I accidently played on hard mode my first few runs. It's just hard yeah and requires luck. Just play the normal mode if you don't like the hard mode.
It's really not the fun kind of difficulty, I would like harder and more interesting challenges instead of just random resource starvation.
Well he still shouldn't bother with it if he's not persistent enough. Then again, I don't expect such a thread from a user with 80 hours in.
You're missing my point completely. OF COURSE it's supposed to be hard. I can finish hard mode, that's not the problem. My point is that it's not fun, but simply frustrating. That's what I think atleast.
And if you want to unlock everything, you basically need to play hard mode with every character, right?
The only "items" you get via hard mode are new co-op babies and you only needs those if you want to 100% the achievments and in this case, again nobody is forcing you to 100% the achievos
If I want to make good runs up to Chest/Dark Room, I'll go for Normal mode, more items means more fun.
e: To elaborate: The Lost is already brutal to the point of stupidity and adding resource starvation to an already incredibly RNG intensive character is just cruel.
the only item you get on the hard mode, that affect the game play is the godhead. So no, you do not need to play hard mode with anybody beside the " hidden char".
Yes, hard mode is mostly boring and frustrating. There's almost zero difference to the actual combat and all it does is force you to skip over item rooms. Not challenging for either your reflexes or strategy and mostly just cumbersome.
