Hard mode stops the game from being fun.
Anyone else think that Hard mode is total BS? I hate artificial difficulty like this so much.

You barely get any keys or bombs. So you can only access a few item rooms, secret rooms, or shops in the whole run. Limiting the player in this way is simply frustrating. I'd rather have every enemy in the game be champions than deal with skipping item rooms constantly.

What do you think?

You still get enough of everything. And it's called "Hard" for a reason. Don't play it if you're not ready yet.

I think you need to ... git gud

No seriously, if you don't like hard mode, don't play it. Nobody is forcing you to do it.

Hard mode is for the people that want a good challenge in their game.

Imagine that, hard mode actually being 'hard'

Now without the sarcasm: I accidently played on hard mode my first few runs. It's just hard yeah and requires luck. Just play the normal mode if you don't like the hard mode.

Honestly, the main difference between hard and normal is that hard has a much worse start. You need good RNG to get your initial resources but once you have sufficient keys and bombs it is basically like normal with a few more rooms per map. No big deal at that point.

It's really not the fun kind of difficulty, I would like harder and more interesting challenges instead of just random resource starvation.

Arguments like "If you don't like it, dont play it" are completely stupid in this sense. Given that everyone has to play on hard mode to get all the items.

Yeah, I think hard mode would be better if it didn't limit pickup drop rate. I don't mind more curses, more champions, or even no heart drops from bosses. That's all cool in my book.

I agree hard mode is crappy unless you play as Isaac, and even then the lack of consumables is daunting. Stick with it though -- it isn't much harder than normal if RNG smiles on you.

Well he still shouldn't bother with it if he's not persistent enough. Then again, I don't expect such a thread from a user with 80 hours in.

You're missing my point completely. OF COURSE it's supposed to be hard. I can finish hard mode, that's not the problem. My point is that it's not fun, but simply frustrating. That's what I think atleast.

And if you want to unlock everything, you basically need to play hard mode with every character, right?

The only "items" you get via hard mode are new co-op babies and you only needs those if you want to 100% the achievments and in this case, again nobody is forcing you to 100% the achievos :rfacepalm:

I agree, but since you got unlocks only by killing Mom's Heart with everyone and nothing else (aparte The Lost stuff), it's not that bad.
If I want to make good runs up to Chest/Dark Room, I'll go for Normal mode, more items means more fun.

Godhead.

e: To elaborate: The Lost is already brutal to the point of stupidity and adding resource starvation to an already incredibly RNG intensive character is just cruel.

the only item you get on the hard mode, that affect the game play is the godhead. So no, you do not need to play hard mode with anybody beside the " hidden char".

I love all the "git gud" responses, as if hard actually makes combat harder. You guys posting this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ have insane random drop skills, I guess. How does one acquire the skill to force drops so one can "git gud" at hard mode? So stupid.

Yes, hard mode is mostly boring and frustrating. There's almost zero difference to the actual combat and all it does is force you to skip over item rooms. Not challenging for either your reflexes or strategy and mostly just cumbersome.
