Angel/devil room dissapear when you leave game?

After beating mom, an angel room popped up. Since I wasn't sure which "side" (chest/dark room) was I missing, I left the game to check. Once back in, the angel room wasn't there anymore.
Is this intentional or is this a bug..?
Also, if it's relevant, the challenge room was there and stayed.

By challenge do you mean boss rush. If so, it remains open as long as thr time is below 20minutes. For angelndevil rooms, they have a chance to go away once u leave the room unless u have goat head

I didn't leave the room, I left the game. Like, pressed escape and "Quit", to go back to the main menu screen.
When I continued, the angel room was gone ; yet I stayed in the same room.
And yes, I meant boss rush.
